Vamps, Vixens and Feminists... In the North

Sphinx Theatre is bringing the bustling debate about women in the arts to the West Yorkshire Playhouse on March 2nd 2012 and NWP are delighted to be partnering on this event.

‘Vamps, Vixens and the North'  is the fourth conference in the Vamps and Vixens series - which aims to explore gender inequality in the performing arts and what can be done by arts practitioners to resolve this imbalance.

The day-long conference will include debate, workshops and networking opportunities for everyone working in / interested in women's roles in the performing arts. The day will run from 10:30 to 17:00 and tickets will cost £15 (£10 concessions)

There is a fantastic panel of speakers, including Tony Panayiotou (Head of Diversity at Arts Council England), Beatrix Campbell OBE (Journalist (guardian, BBC R4) and writer), Sally Wainwright (Writer), Penelope Skinner (writer), Chris Campbell (Literary manager, Royal Court), Professor Mary Luckhurst (York University) Dawn Walton, Ian Brown, Erica Whyman and Sheena Wrigley, Amanda Whittington, Janys Chambers, Bidisha and more...
