Classes

We provide a variety of classes, looking at all aspects of the craft and business of writing scripts.

We offer our well-established entry-level course around once every year, in different parts of the North West.

Our latest Enter Stage Write Course took place in November 2011 in collaboration with Lancaster Litfest, with Bill Hopkinson as tutor.

We provide one-off masterclasses, led by prominent practitioners such as David Edgar, Tim Fountain, Kaite O'Reilly and Jim Cartwright, and targeted at more experienced writers.

Tim Fountain was brilliant! I thought it was the most insightful and practical writing workshop I have ever attended. It really inspired me on a practical- how to get things on way, and an artistic- how to get things right way. The stuff about structure and creating interesting worlds was very clear and I feel I can put it into practice in the future.

We also set up panel events, at which you can hear and question established practitioners.

Examples have included Cutting It On the Fringe at Oldham Coliseum, looking at ways you can stage your own work; and Who Needs Writers? in conjunction with Bolton Octagon, examining the issues around verbatim theatre.
